The latest Cleveland Browns news and notes from around the NFL in the Sunday Dawg Chow.
The NFL celebrates its marquee event today with Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.
On one side are the Philadelphia Eagles, who are making their fifth appearance in the title game of the Super Bowl era. Philadelphia is just 1-3 in their previous trips, but have pocketed four NFL Championships overall, with title seasons in 1948, 1949, 1960, and 2017.
Opposing them are the Kansas City Chiefs, who are seeking to be the first NFL team to win three consecutive championships since the Green Bay Packers did it from 1965 to 1967. This will be Kansas City’s seventh appearance in the Super Bowl, and they went home winners in 1969, 2019, 2022, and 2023.
While the Cleveland Browns are not playing today, there are a couple of familiar faces on the Chiefs, including running back Kareem Hunt, defensive tackle Siaki Ika, and defensive line coach Joe Cullen.
It should be an entertaining game as both teams deserve to be playing today, which has not always been the case over the years.
To help everyone get ready for the big day, let’s roll out the latest edition of the Sunday Dawg Chow.
