The Chiefs were nearly perfect this season.
The Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs kicks off with the Houston Texans battling the Kansas City Chiefs. Aside from a loss this season to the Bills, the Chiefs were basically perfect this year (we aren’t counting the final game, where they rested everyone and didn’t care).
These two teams met during the regular season about a month ago, with the Chiefs prevailing 27-19. The game never got out of hand, but Kansas City was also firmly in control from start to finish, which is the way most KC games went this year. It almost feels like they were going through the motions, and can hit the gas when they choose to — coupled with having a strong defense.
I was not a fan of the Texans at all this season, but they pulled off a solid first round playoff win over the Chargers, much like they did against the Browns a year ago. They had big defensive plays to negate their flurry of offensive mistakes. I don’t see the Chiefs being as undisciplined, and they’ll just wait for the right time to strike.
The game starts at 4:30 pm ET and will be televised on ESPN and ABC. Chiefs 24, Texans 17
