The Cleveland Browns have already made changes to their roster before the start of mandatory minicamp.
On Tuesday, the Browns announced that kicker Lucas Havrisik has been released. The Arizona product started his NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts in 2022.
The Browns first added Havrisik to their practice squad in August 2023. He was then signed by the Los Angeles Rams in October.
In nine career games with the Rams, Havrisik made 15 of 20 field goal attempts. He also made 19 of 22 extra point attempts during his time in Los Angeles.
After the Rams waived Havrisik in January, he signed a reserve/futures contract with the Browns in January 2024. It didn’t take long for them to move on from him.
Although the Browns have parted ways with Havrisik, they still have enough depth for a kicking competition.
Dustin Hopkins is on track to be the Week 1 starter for the Browns, but we can’t rule out Cade York. The LSU product is known for having a huge leg.
That being said, Hopkins was very reliable this year, knocking down 91.7 percent of his field goal attempts.
