Well, the Cleveland Browns are heading to Las Vegas to face the Raiders. The Dawgs are currently 1-2 after a very disappointing and depleting loss to the New York Giants at home, 21-15. The Raiders are also 1-2 themselves.
I reported in a previous article…”Breaking news has come in before Sunday’s Cleveland Browns matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders out west. Two key players on LA have been officially ruled OUT. That would be wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) and defensive end Maxx Crosby (ankle).”
These are arguably the best players on each side of the ball for an already mediocre Raiders team. And yes, it is a home game for them, but the epectations are that the Browns have to take care of business and win in LA.
I harken to the song “Imagine” by John Lennon…
Imagine a 1-3 record, especially after a loss to a depleted mediocre team. It makes an already-bleak season just that much worse. Additionally, the Browns face two teams in the coming weeks with winning records currently in the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles.
It’s never easy, right?
If the Browns not only win but win convincingly it makes a 2-2 record look so great heading to Washington to face the Commanders. It could potentially make everything that much better.
Start with the blocking to help quarterback Deshaun Watson. After all, the Raiders’ best pass-rusher out. Now, Watson has to show up himself, get that stuff out of his basement and get ready to change the season. And finally, fix the mistakes with the gruesome penalties that give my ancestors heart attacks.
Of course, people like me chirped the entire week about the team doing this, this and that wearing those orange helmets. However, it’s really simple.
Just win.
And win with conviction to fix this season.
Since I mentioned John Lennon’s amazing song. Here is my lyrics remix:
Imagine there are no Browns penalties
It’s easy if you try
No fumbles below us
Above us, only Dawg Pound Fans
Imagine all the Browns Hall of Famers
Livin’ for this game
Ah
Imagine there’s no pass drops
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to recover or go for
And no 4th and longs, too
Imagine all the coaches
Livin’ the postgame in peace
You
You may say I’m a writer
But I’m not the only fan
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the Dawgs will be as one
