The Cleveland Browns hold the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL draft and they very well could use it to target Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
The NFL combine is this week, so the Browns will get another chance to meet with Sanders after already engaging in conversations with him at the East-West Shrine Bowl in January. Sanders has already confirmed he and the Browns have a top-30 visit planned out as well.
Andrew Berry spoke to the media today at the combine and was asked what the Browns have gathered from Sanders at this point in the process. Here was Berry’s response:
“We got a chance to spend some time with Shedeur at the East-West, we get time to spend with him during the upcoming week. He’s a fantastic individual, he’s really smart, really driven, grew up around football and has been highly successful. It’s been a pleasure to spend time with him and we’re looking forward to spending more over the coming weeks.”

Sanders is the most accurate quarterback in the class, played for a former mentor of Kevin Stefanski in Pat Shurmur, and his father Deion has raved about the Browns’ new quarterbacks coach in Bill Musgrave as well. The chemistry is there for Sanders to fit in with the Browns.
Questions remain, however. Do the Browns want to draft a quarterback high in this year’s class? If they do, will they prefer Sanders to Miami’s Cam Ward? We still have two months to continue to piece this puzzle together.
