As the 2024 season for the Browns wraps up with only three games left, sources have said that QB Deshaun Watson will be back in Cleveland once again next season. As many fans are upset and annoyed at this idea, the Browns still aren’t officially committing to him as the starter.
The Browns will most likely bring in a QB in the offseason to compete against Watson and try to become the next starting QB for Cleveland. According to sources, the perfect QB for this situation is in the league right now.
The QB everyone is talking about is Kirk Cousins.
The Browns would have to make a trade with the Falcons to get Cousins to Cleveland. If the trade is successful, the Browns will have Cousins for two seasons. Many would probably say that he does not have much left in the tank based on this year’s season in Atlanta, but he might be better than Watson.
With Cousins, the Browns would still be in the mix to compete for the playoffs. This might also work for the 2025 season as the Browns are not planning on taking a QB in this upcoming draft class.
The Browns might have a look at Cousins, where he could be a bridge QB for the 2025 season and maybe the 2026 season. Whatever happens, I think most of us Cleveland fans are ready for the Watson saga to end in Cleveland. We will see what off-season moves the Browns front office makes!
