Jarrett Allen: When I first got drafted to the league, it was trouble getting drafted because I didn’t love basketball. That was like the big saying — “Oh, he has too many different interests,” and everything. It’s like I wasn’t locked in, I didn’t fit the mold. But then I was able to stay — like, keep myself, be who I am, and still show that I’m good at basketball, you know? And that shut a lot of people up. Let’s just be honest. Like, go out and watch movies, read books, and then go drop 20 and 10 or something like that, you know? And it’s like — what are you gonna say to me, you know? I think people respect me more for me staying true to my interests than trying to fit into a mold where I don’t belong.
