If the Boston Celtics were to complete the comeback on Monday night, they would become the first team in NBA history to be down 0-3 and win a playoff series.
But is that feat any greater than what the Cleveland Cavaliers did in 2016? Brian Windhorst doesn’t think so.
Appearing on “Get Up,” the veteran ESPN NBA reporter admitted that while it’s very compelling, he can’t put a Celtics 3-0 rally ahead of what that Cavs team accomplished against one of the best teams ever.
“I’m not in position to put it past that.”
Brian Windhorst says the 2016 Cavs’ 3-1 comeback vs. the Warriors is a better comeback story than the Celtics’ potential 3-0 comeback vs. the Heat. Do you agree? 🧐

Look, you’re talking to someone who was up close and personal on the 2016 Finals. … The Cavs winning that series down 3-1 against a 73-win team, winning Games 5 and 7 on the road… I’m not in position to put it past that. But I could certainly see why the Boston fans will call themselves the Comeback City.
What the Boston Celtics have been able to do thus far has certainly been special. But it’s important to note that the C’s came into the series heavily-favored and have had to scratch and claw to force a Game 7 against a strong-willed, but undermanned eight-seeded Heat team.
With that said, history can be made in the TD Garden tonight. In one way, or another.
