On Friday night, The Ohio State Buckeyes celebrated as they defeated the Texas Longhorns by a final score of 28-14. This game throughout most of it was a close, nerve-wrecking game. The Buckeyes started out with a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Longhorns tied the game up 7-7 before halftime, but then suddenly…..The Buckeyes scored a go-ahead touchdown with only 30 seconds left on the clock, making it a 14-7 score going into halftime.
The third quarter was a back to a nerve-wracking game as the Buckeyes did not score any points for the first 15 minutes of the second half. However, the Longhorns scored and tied the game up 14-14 making that your score at the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter was a chilling part of the game that will forever be an amazing memory of mine as a Buckeyes fan.
In the fourth quarter, the Buckeyes scored another go-ahead touchdown with about six minutes left on the clock making it a 21-14 game. Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers marched his offense down the field, where the Buckeyes eventually made a spectacular goal-line stand. It was 4th down with roughly two minutes left of the clock, and DE Jack Sawyer amazingly sealed the deal for the Bucks as he forced Ewers to fumble the ball leading to a Jack Sawyer 83-yard touchdown. This makes the final score of the game 28-14 Ohio State!

The Buckeyes will now play the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the College Football Championship Game on Monday, January 20, 2025. One fun fact about this year’s matchup is that there is no SEC team in the finals. This will be an exciting matchup for College Football as it might be refreshing for most fans as, again, no SEC teams in this championship game.
