Cleveland Cavaliers draftee Luke Travers has signed a three-year deal with Melbourne United of the Australian NBL. It’s unknown if the deal includes an NBA out, but Travers plans to play for Cleveland at 2023 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
Travers was drafted by Cleveland with the 26th pick of the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft. The now 21-year-old forward was selected with the understanding that he may stay overseas for at least two to three more seasons.
Travers has played the first four seasons of his professional career with the Perth Wildcats. In 32 games last season, the versatile 6-foot-7 forward averaged 9.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
