The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed guards Jacob Gilyard and Zhaire Smith to Exhibit 10 contract. Both players are expected to join the Cleveland Charge of the G League as affiliate players following the preseason.
Gilyard spent last season with the Memphis Grizzlies and Brooklyn Nets on two-way contracts. In 37 games with the Grizzlies, the 5-foot-8 point guard averaged 4.7 points and 3.5 assists per game.
Smith made a return to the NBA last season with the Cavs after a three-year absence. The 6-foot-3 guard signed a 10 Day contract with Cleveland, but did not appear in any NBA games. In 47 G League games, Smith averaged 13.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
