Cavs news and links for Tuesday, Nov. 19.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have their biggest game of the season tonight as they take on the Boston Celtics. But first, let’s get to the news and links of the day.
The first sip
Winning 15 straight games puts a target on your back. Everyone wants to be the team that ends the historic run. Darius Garland has welcomed that extra attention.
“We got a target on our back,” Garland said after Sunday’s win. “That’s been the way since the first time we’ve been in the playoffs. We always had a target on our back, and it’s really shining on us now because we are undefeated and we got this group.
“I mean, we like being the hunted though. We’ve been the hunters all our lives so just having this opportunity, being the hunted and being one of the considered teams means a lot to us. We got to stay here. We got to keep accepting the challenge because everybody’s going to put their best foot forward against us trying to give us our first L.”
Garland certainly has accepted the challenge this season. He continues to be one of the best guards in the league. That’s reflected in his 21.4 points and 7 assists a game with an otherworldy 62.7 effective field goal percentage (97th percentile).
The Cavs will have a target on their back tonight. We’ll see how Garland and his teammates respond.
The second sip
The vibes are so good that the Cavs apparently crash wedding photoshoots now.
During our City Edition Shoot at the @ClevelandArt, a wedding party was being photographed, so our guys swung by to introduce themselves and congratulate the newly married couple!
