The Cleveland Cavaliers are ready to kick off the new season by bringing the band back together but with a new head coach in Kenny Atkinson. The schedule is out. There are lots of good games to keep an eye on. Here are the five must-see games from the Cavs this season.
Oct. 28: @ New York Knicks
Two good Eastern Conference teams, two teams that faced each other in the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs. The Knicks got the best out of the Cavs. Jalen Brunson against Donovan Mitchell will be fun to watch, with both men in the prime of their careers and leaders of their teams.
Nov. 1: vs Orlando Magic
The rematch of last year’s first-round matchup. One of the best playoff series of the previous season. The Orlando Magic surprised all of us with their tenacity. An inexperienced team took the Cavs to seven games. The Cavs and Magic are two excellent and young defensive teams. So you can expect that in this matchup. There’s a possibility we could see a future rivalry between both teams.
Nov 13: @ Philadelphia Sixers
This is an early test for the Cavs early in the season. On paper, the Sixers are an elite team in the Eastern Conference with the addition of Paul George and Caleb Martin. A victory over the Sixers will give this team a lot of confidence. A team with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George is a lot to handle, but the Cavs will need everyone to step it up to another level to take this team down.
Nov. 19: @ Boston Celtics
The Cavs would love to get revenge on the reigning defending champs for ending their season in the second round of the playoffs. The Celtics are not going anywhere, and the Cavs will need to make adjustments to take down this juggernaut team.
Jan. 14: @ Indiana Pacers
The Pacers are one of those teams slowly emerging into a good team. Tyrese Haliburton has the dog mentality. He won the gold medal with Team USA this Summer. The duo of Haliburton and Pascal Siakam is no joke. They’re only going to improve, and team chemistry is a big deal. Darius Garland must be consistent and help Donovan Mitchell win the duo competition for this matchup. Like the Magic, the Pacers could be a potential rival to the Cavs, especially for those 4-6 playoff seeding sports.
