Allen is once again being recognized for his sportsmanship.
To the surprise of no one, Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen has been recognized for being a great teammate. The NBA announced on Wednesday afternoon that he’s one of six finalists for the 2024-25 Sportsmanship Award.

Each organization nominated a representative from its team for the award. The six finalists from each division were chosen by a selection of league executives. The finalist will be voted on by the players.
This is the second-straight season that Allen has been a finalist for this award. He ended up finishing third for the recognition behind Kevin Love of the Miami Heat and the winner, Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Allen has exemplified the qualities of a great teammate and sportsmanship this season. Just ask his head coach.
“The person,” was head coach Kenny Atkinson’s response last month when asked what he appreciates most about Allen.
“I think that stands out first. Then the teammate he is. And I guess the third thing is how coachable [he is]. When you have those characteristics, that’s part of our winning. He’s a big part of it. He’s selfless, beyond necessary.”
Allen has done this while being extremely impactful on the court. He entered Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks averaging 13.8 points, 10 rebounds, one steal, and 0.9 blocks per game.
Allen wasn’t the only player to be named a finalist for an end-of-season award on Wednesday. Donovan Mitchell was recognized as a finalist for the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award.
