Jarrett Allen was “obligated” to sign his contract extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers before August 6, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
With the signing reported in late July, Allen is now available to be traded on February 2, 2025. There is a leaguewide belief that the long-term fit between Allen and Evan Mobley is “suspect.”
Allen signed a three-year, $91 million extension. Allen is now under contract for $131 million over the next five seasons. Allen is represented by Jim Tanner and Derrick Powell.
In 77 games last season, Allen averaged 16.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 blocks in 31.7 minutes.
Allen previously re-signed with the Cavaliers as a free agent in 2021 on a five-year, $100 million deal. Allen previously could have become a free agent in 2026.
