A longtime NBA announcer let his opinion on President Donald Trump be heard loud and clear on Thursday night.
Earlier tonight, the NBA announced the Eastern and Western Conference reserves for the upcoming All-Star Game. The Cleveland Cavaliers had two players selected in guard Darius Garland and forward Evan Mobley. The two will join star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell, who was previously named an Eastern Conference starter, to give the East-leading Cavs a trio of All-Stars.
Cavaliers legend and venerable team broadcaster Austin Carr recognized this great honor in a since-deleted tweet, which he capped off with a message about President Trump.
“Cavs have three all star, congrats, well deserved GO CAVS #ImpeachTrumpNOW,” Carr said.

Like we said, Carr deleted the tweet, but he followed it up with a tongue-in-cheek explanation for his comments.
“Need help using my phone, note to self -double check hashtags before posting Go Cavs,” Carr wrote.
Carr’s very clearly not a fan of the Republican president, who returned to office last Monday for his second term after previously serving in the White House from 2017-21.
Trump caused controversy earlier Thursday when he implied that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) hiring practices at the FAA might have been to blame for Wednesday night’s tragic crash involving an American Airlines flight and an Army helicopter in Washington, D.C.
At one point in his press conference, Trump blasted former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and alleged that he and previous leadership determined the FAA workforce was “too white.”
“It just could have been,” Trump said when asked if he was implying that diversity hiring caused the crash. “We have a high standard. We’ve had a much higher standard than anybody else. And there are things where you have to go by brainpower. You have to go by psychological quality, and psychological quality is a very important element of it. These are various, very powerful tests that we put to use. And they were terminated by Biden. And Biden went by a standard that seeks the exact opposite. So we don’t know.
“But we do know that you had two planes at the same level. You had a helicopter and a plane. That shouldn’t have happened. And, we’ll see. We’re going to look into that, and we’re going to see. But certainly for an air traffic controller, we want the brightest, the smartest, the sharpest. We want somebody that’s psychologically superior. And that’s what we’re going to have.”
Buttigieg responded by calling Trump “despicable.” An investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
