The Cleveland Browns have been proposing a few ideas for their future home. The two options we have been following along with is a renovation to the current stadium which keeps the Browns downtown on the lakefront or a new multi-purpose domed stadium in Brookpark, Ohio.
The Cleveland Browns should stay downtown when it’s said and done and the main reason is because not having a football stadium downtown will kill the businesses there. Even though the city is currently discussing current stadium renovations, there needs to be a way for the City of Cleveland to propose a new stadium in the downtown area.
Overall, the dome is probably going to be the future of the league even though Cleveland Football is meant to be played outdoors in the elements, but if the Browns are getting a dome it needs to be downtown. There are two different scenarios the Browns can do when it comes to a new stadium downtown.
The City of Cleveland could demolish Burke Lakefront Airport and build a new stadium there, or they could even demolish Steelyard Commons and build a new stadium by the highway. The second option would, still in a way, keep the Browns downtown.
As stated earlier, the Browns will most likely have a future in Brookpark, but these are other options Jimmy Haslam and the City of Cleveland should discuss.
