I understand, but what do you think about the current state of the All-Star Game? Rajon Rondo: “Obviously, it’s at an all-time low, I believe. I mean, I think some of the cities gotta be better—keep it a buck, man. You can’t have the All-Star Game in cold-ass Indianapolis. Who’s gonna pull up to that? Nobody who doesn’t have to be there wants to be there. So why would I go to Indianapolis for All-Star Weekend just to say I was there? I mean, not to kill all these other cities, but why are we having it in Cleveland in February? It needs to be somewhere warm, somewhere celebrities and people actually want to go. You should be able to be outside, not stuck in a hotel room all weekend. So for me, I think the location needs to change. And for the game itself, I think it starts with the leaders, man.

More on this storyline
Rajon Rondo: At times, Doc—there’s no secret—Doc pissed me off. I was frustrated with him a lot. And Sam was that guy who bridged the gap, along with T [Tyronn Lue] years later. Those were the guys that really helped. They helped the relationship—helped me understand, “Okay, this is what Doc is thinking,” and then they would go tell him, “This is how Rondo is thinking.” It helped a lot. And like I said, Sam was vital and pivotal during those years I was able to play with him. You know, he’s a two-time champ—maybe three. I think he won one before in Houston. But having a guy like that in the locker room, and then being able to go to the coaching staff and translate what’s best for the team and for us as individuals—that’s huge. -via YouTube / February 13, 2025
Chandler Parsons: Do you shower five times a day? Rajon Rondo: On game days. Lou Williams: Come on dog! Rondo: I wake up, then I shower. Okay? Go to shootaround, shower. I’m gonna take my nap, get up, shower. Then I go play the game. Wait, now I got to warm up, right? 40 minutes on the clock I take a shower, then I shower after the game. -via YouTube / January 27, 2025
“Rajon Rondo started to go crazy in practices, talking so much in the film session,” Mirotic remembered. “You saw Rajon Rondo always in front of a computer watching films, and he was like so confident that we’re gonna actually beat Portland, and Portland was having an amazing season, and Damian Lillard was killing everybody, so we went to Portland, and actually somebody was knocking on my door. “It was like 2 or 3 a.m., and it was Rajon Rondo with the computer showing me, ‘Tomorrow we have to do this. You have to cut this way or set the pick like this.’ I was like, ‘Rajon, we’re playing tomorrow. It’s 3 a.m.’ He was, ‘But this is very important; you sleep with this.’ I felt like how serious this was, and we swept Portland 4-0. It was insane. -via BasketNews / January 9, 2025
