After enjoying a seven-game winning streak in November, the Miami Heat have struggled to maintain their momentum and are now at 15-12 on the season. In an effort to get a little extra juice, they could make a blockbuster deal in the weeks to come.
According to ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst, the Heat are one of three teams believed to be interested in bringing Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell into the fold. The other two teams he named were the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks. All three teams are currently .500 or better.
“I would say the Knicks and the Nets are riding on the line,” Windhorst said on Monday, via NetsDaily. “Those two teams where I think Donovan would have a chance of resigning. if they got into a bidding war, I think that could be interesting.”
NBA fans weren’t totally convinced that Miami is really going to try hard for Mitchell. Some have pointed out that the Heat have been linked to Mitchell and other stars in the past but failed to get them.

“Heat also wanted dame. But that didn’t happen,” one user pointed out.
“Heat and Knicks all for us to wake up to the notis of Donovan Mitchell randomly being traded to the Spurs, we’ve seen this number before,” a second wrote.
“Oh good, fresh disappointment to endure when we definitely don’t get him,” a third joked.
Will Donovan Mitchell join the Heat, some other team, or stay in Cleveland?
