Once again, there’s always a debate on who’s the goat of everything in sports, but this time I decided to pick a list that gets talked about but, not in as much detail as it should. With that being said, here are my top five dual-threat quarterbacks of all time.
5) Kordell Stewart

“SLASH” as he was known throughout his career was one of the earliest prototypes of the dual QB back in the early 90’s. He led Colorado to a “Hail Mary” win over Michigan and was one of the most prolific passers in school history at that time. If the play wasn’t there he used his legs to create one. “SLASH” cemented his name in Buffaloe’s history with his play on the field every time he got under center.
4) Charlie Ward

Most people forget about Ward as a QB. Mainly because he was such a great basketball player, But in 1993 Charlie Ward led the Florida State Seminoles to a national title. He could use his legs, but what most people forget is that at the time Ward was one of the most accurate passers in FSU history! Oh yeah, He also won the Heisman Trophy that same season and his jersey number has been retired by the school. So his resume speaks for itself.
3) Steve Mcnair

“Air Mcnair” as he was known was the most underrated college QB of the 90s hands down. He Led HBCU Alcorn State to the then 1-AA playoffs and was even on the Heisman list. In all honesty, had he played at a bigger school the man would be higher on everyone’s list.
2) Tommie Frazier

This guy was unbelievable! In Nebraska’s offense, he made opposing defenses look foolish trying to stop him. A Johnny Unitas Golden Arm award winner and a two-time national champion in his day shows how much of a threat he really was at the position.
1) Michael Vick

If you thought he wasn’t going to be number one on this list SOMEBODY TOLD YOU WRONG! For his time at Virginia Tech, Vick was a thorn in the side of the Miami Hurricanes. Not only beating them and wining the Big East title in 1999, but he gave the Hokies an 11-0 record that year also. Let’s not also forget he almost won the 1999 BCS national title and beat Florida State single-handedly. Had it not been for Vick not having a better supporting cast he would have left Virginia Tech with a title and even more history behind him.
Say what you want about the list, but what you can’t say is that these men don’t deserve their flowers and recognition where it is due.
