Wade has been upgraded to questionable.
Dean Wade and Ty Jerome are questionable for the Cleveland Cavaliers Tuesday game against the Washington Wizards. Jerome is dealing with an illness while Wade continues progressing toward a return after suffering an ankle injury on Nov. 17.
The Cavaliers have sorely missed Wade’s two-way versatility. He’s one of the few players on the roster who has legit size at the wing (6’9”) and enough athleticism to cover multiple positions. Wade’s perimeter defense has been a standout and his three-point shooting makes him a worthy floor spacer.
#Cavs Dean Wade is QUESTIONABLE for tomorrow’s game against the Wizards. Sources tell @clevelanddotcom that Wade wanted to play yesterday against Boston and went thru a 3 on 3 workout today at the practice facility in hopes of showing the training staff he is ready to come back.

Wade reportedly wanted to play in Cleveland’s recent game against the Boston Celtics. He participated in a workout on Monday in an attempt to prove he’ll be ready to suit up on Tuesday. Whether or not the Cavaliers’ medical staff clears him is yet to be seen. Either way, Wade appears to be nearing a return.
As for Jerome, an illness would explain some of his recent struggles. Jerome has not been as effective on the floor over the last few games. A chance to rest and hit the reset button could be helpful.
Max Strus remains out with an ankle injury. It has been six weeks since the injury but there is still no clear timetable for when Strus will return. His value as a multifaceted makeshift wing next to the core four is missed.
Emoni Bates, JT Thor and Luke Travers are also out. Bates is recovering from knee surgery while Thor and Travers are on G-League assignment with the Charge.
