Ohio State will soon be hosting one of the nation’s top quarterbacks in the 2026 class. The Buckeyes were also named a top school for a four-star cornerback.
The Ohio State football team is in the thick of the offseason, but the wintry months are quickly — and thankfully —- coming to an end. With warmer weather quickly approaching, Ryan Day and the Ohio State coaching staff are busy preparing for what will be a critical spring for the football team.
Ohio State will have a lot of new faces on the field and the sidelines next season, and Ryan Day and the coaching staff have likely already been spending countless hours shaping out what the Ohio State football team will look like next season. Spring practices will also go a long way in deciding key positional battles.
Another priority for the Ohio State coaching staff is recruiting, and with spring brings official and unofficial visits. The Buckeyes are preparing to host most of the nation’s top talents in the coming months for spring practices and recruiting camps, and the visitor lists for both are quickly adding up.
On Monday, Ohio State added another blue-chip recruit to its spring visitor list when 2026 four-star quarterback Bowe Bentley (Celina, TX / Celina) announced he has an official visit scheduled with Ohio State for March 19.

Ohio State is not alone in having the opportunity to host Bentley for an official visit. Oklahoma, LSU, Florida State and Georgia Tech will all also have the chance to officially play host to Bentley.
Ohio State is still looking for its signal-caller in the 2026 recruiting class. Securing this has become a challenge for the coaching staff, given the current positional group Ohio State has put together. Additionally, the Buckeyes also have a commitment from 2027 five-star Brady Edmunds. However, Ohio State and Bentley are quickly building a strong relationship, one that the Buckeyes hope will blossum.
The Buckeyes offered Bentley just last month on Jan. 30, but in the short few weeks that have followed the Buckeyes have become one of his top schools. It is still early in his recruitment but March will be a busy month for Bentley and we should know more on Ohio State’s chances following all of his official visits.
Bentley is the No. 10 QB in the 247Sports Composite Rankings and he is the No. 151 overall prospect. He is also the No. 18 recruit out of the talent-rich state of Texas.
Four-star CB includes Ohio State in top schools
Ohio State is not only making recruiting headlines by adding recruits to its spring visitor lists, it is also making news by making the top schools lists of many of the nation’s top prospects on what feels like a daily basis.
On Monday, this trend continued as 2026 four-star cornerback target Dorian Barney (Carrollton, GA / Carrollton) cut his list of suitors down to a dozen, and Ohio State made the cut.

Alongside Ohio State, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Penn State, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Oregon, Florida State, Michigan, UNC, Miami and Colorado all made Barney’s top 12 schools.
Ohio State has long been interested in Barney, offering him in January 2024. Since the offer, the Buckeyes and Barney have remained in good contact and he also visited Columbus last season for a gameday experience when the Buckeyes played host to Iowa.
Barney is the No. 11 CB and the No. 91 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is also the No. 12 recruit out of the talent-rich state of Georgia.
