Ohio State is currently hosting four-star defender Isaiah Gibson on a visit, and it seems like they have left a good impression.
On Tuesday evening, On3’s Hayes Fawcett broke the news that Gibson, who had been committed to USC since March, was reopening his recruitment.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound EDGE from Warner Robins, Georgia is on an official visit to OSU at the moment, one of several he has taken recently.
“Currently on the Ohio State campus,” Lettermen Row’s Matt Parker tweeted.
Gibson, the No. 2 EDGE and No. 36 overall player in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, has already visited Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Auburn and Florida and also has a trip set for Oklahoma.
247Sports’ Andrew Ivins described Gibson as a “long-limbed pass rusher that can close on quarterbacks,” in his latest scouting report.
“Should be viewed as a high-ceiling defender that could fit a variety of different roles given growth potential and gap-closing burst,” Ivins wrote in February. “Likely going to need a developmental year or two before he’s ready to go on Saturdays, but could work his way into the rotation relatively early and help generate pressure in obvious passing situations.”
Gibson has registered 23 sacks in the last two seasons, including 17 as a junior in 2023.
