We all know that Urban Meyer will always have “O-H-I-O” flowing through his veins, so there was no doubt where his allegiance lied ahead of FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff” between Michigan and No. 3 Texas on Saturday.
As Meyer headed for the green room, the former Ohio State Buckeyes coach was spotted wearing a “Beat Michigan” shirt, which Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy (a Michigan man himself) didn’t take too kindly to.
“Hit the treadmill fatzo,” the 47-year-old said on X.
Portnoy’s post racked up thousands of likes on the social media platform and received numerous responses from OSU and Michigan fans alike.
“7-0 all that matters,” a user replied, pointing to Meyer’s record against TTUN.
“Doesn’t he have a wife to cheat on?” a UM fan asked.
“Honestly one of the weirdest smirk/walk combos I’ve ever seen in my life,” another person commented.
“Yall literally built the same,” another pointed out.
It wasn’t a great day to be a Wolverine after the Longhorns went into The Big House and left with a 31-12 win that wasn’t even as close as the score would indicate.
Quinn Ewers had the offense humming and finished the game with 246 yards and three touchdowns, while UT’s running backs combined for 143 yards and another score on the ground.
It’s been a long time since an opponent traveled to Michigan Stadium and stunned the UM crowd like that.
The Wolverines will look to get back in the win column next week against Arkansas State before another tough battle against No. 13 USC on Sept. 21.
