Ohio State’s season is alive in the College Football Playoff, but the Buckeyes have still had several players enter the transfer portal this month.
Miles Walker, a reserve offensive tackle, was one of those portal entrants. Walker, a three-star prospect out of the Brunswick School in Greenwich, Conn. in the class of 2023, did not appear in any games for the Buckeyes during his two seasons with the program. He officially announced his intention to transfer three weeks ago.
According to a report from Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of 247Sports/CBS Sports, Walker has found a new home out west. The 6-foot-5, 317-pound lineman is transferring to Boise State.
Walker was the No. 4 player in Connecticut, No. 33 offensive tackle in the country and No. 501 player in the 2023 class, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.
While he wasn’t able to crack the lineup in Columbus, perhaps Walker will have better luck with the Broncos in 2025.
Meanwhile, his former teammates will look for revenge against Oregon in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl on Wednesday evening. The Ducks, who are undefeated and won the Big Ten in their first season in the conference, beat Ohio State 32-31 in Eugene back in October.
“You don’t get second chances a lot in life. That just doesn’t happen. So, I’m thankful that we even get a chance to go out there and play these guys again,” Ohio State quarterback Will Howard said recently.
“And it really has nothing to do with me, man. It’s about this team and the way that we lost that game. It still hurts. It still hurts all of us. So, we’re excited for another crack at these guys. We’ll keep it in the back of our heads. It’s a new game. We’re both very different teams than we were back then, but that definitely hasn’t left my head.”
Ohio State and Oregon will kick off in the Rose Bowl at 5 p.m. ET Wednesday on ESPN.
