Check on Buckeye tennis, softball, golf and more to see who’s winning awards and breaking records.
As we enter the lull between basketball season and football’s spring game, there’s still plenty of athletic action happening at Ohio State to keep you rooting for the Buckeyes. Here are the stories that had us O-H’ing, I-O’ing, and straight-up yelling this week.
1. No. 3 Men’s tennis sticks it to the whole state of Michigan
Two wild comebacks against No. 20 Michigan and Michigan State helped the Buckeye men’s tennis team preserve its undefeated conference record. Though they dropped the doubles point and saw their opponents take early singles leads in both matchups, they managed to rally from behind to secure both victories.

The matchup against TTUN is particularly huge as it helps the Buckeyes keep the top spot in the conference.
The consecutive nail-biters are indicative of just how much resolve this Buckeye team has, something that will serve them well as they gear up to host UCLA and USC next weekend, on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
2. Artistic Swimming continues to make a splash
Ohio State’s artistic swimming team took third place at the 2025 U.S. Collegiate Championships in Ypsilanti, Michigan, this past weekend, with additional honors for Ruby Remati and Rikki Evens, who won national titles in A Figures and B Figures, respectively.
Remati was a member of Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics, helping the U.S. bring home the silver medal after they failed to qualify in the team event for the past four Summer Games.

The Buckeyes’ artistic swimming team is the school’s winningest team across all sports. After sweeping the sport’s first intercollegiate national championships in 1977, Ohio State has won 34 national championships, more than any other team in the sport.
3. Women’s Golf won big at Clemson this past weekend
The No. 24 Ohio State women’s golf team had a record-breaking weekend at the Clemson Invitational, winning the team title by 10 strokes and setting both a tournament and program record with their 54-hole score of 819 (-45). Their round three score tied the lowest 18-hole round in program history, at 16-under.
Additionally, two Buckeyes boasted top-five finishes, with Kary Hollenbaugh taking home the individual title with a career-best 54-hole score of 200 (-16) and Marina Joyce-Moreno earning a career-best fourth-place finish with a career-best score of 205 (-11).
Hollenbaugh, who is the No. 28-ranked amateur in the world, scored a career-low eight-under 64 in round three, which ties the record for second-lowest round in program history. The victory was her third individual title this season, tied for the program’s second-most individual titles in a single season with one meet left before the Big Ten Championships.
Up next, the Buckeyes host the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational on April 12-13, their final meet of the regular season.
4. Softball is knocking this season out of the park — literally
The No. 22 softball team continues to lead the nation in home runs, adding two to their total in Monday’s loss to Indiana to bring their tally to 89.
Though the loss ended an 11-game win streak for the Buckeyes, Ohio State took the series, 2-1, and continues to be on fire offensively. The starting squad is averaging .335 or above, combining for a team average of .361.
Kami Kortokrax, who had one of Monday’s two homers, also put up her 200th career hit in the outing. She has recorded a hit in 18 of the last 21 games.

The team will look to get a new win streak going as they head west for a California road stretch, starting with a Wednesday game against Long Beach State. They’ll follow that with a two-game series against No. 7 UCLA this weekend that could shake up the conference standings.
5. OSU Baseball’s Blaine Wynk was named Big Ten pitcher of the week
After a stellar outing from junior righty Blaine Wynk helped the Buckeyes upset No. 10 Oregon, 8-6, in Columbus, in Wynk’s first win of the season.
Wynk struck out seven batters in 3.1 innings pitched, and he gave up just one run to earn him the first weekly Big Ten honors of his career.

The unranked Buckeyes have struggled this season, going 0-7 in conference matchups heading into their doubleheader against the top-10 Ducks, but they netted their first two conference wins this season after sweeping the doubleheader, despite Oregon scoring first in both games.
Now, the Buckeyes will look to keep the momentum going as they host West Virginia Tuesday night at 6 p.m. ET, before heading out west for a three-game series against USC this weekend.
