When running back Quinshon Judkins entered the transfer portal and exited as a member of the Ohio State Buckeyes, he recognized that there would be some perks to joining the team. But there’s one special perk that he took special care to mention to Fox Sports’ Gus Johnson that had the play-by-play man in tears.
Speaking to Fox Sports, Judkins revealed that while he joined Ohio State for the usual football reasons, he also loved the idea of being able to have his games called by Johnson. He even pulled Johnson aside at one point during the meeting and told him, “I never had a chance to have a guy like you, Gus Johnson, call my games.”
Johnson admitted that the comment brought a tear to his eye.
“I was in tears…” Johnson said. “Quinshon Judkins – I’m gonna give him EVERYTHING I got!”
Fans certainly loved seeing how special that was to hear from Johnson:
“He’s a Michigan Man, but Gus and Ohio State is a fun combination. Gus has the most enthusiasm known to the sport of football for his commentary,” one YouTube user wrote in the comments.
“That’s amazing,” wrote another.
“Gus Johnson and Ohio State just go together,” a third user wrote.
Judkins went on to have 173 rushing yards and two touchdowns for the Buckeyes in today’s 49-14 win over Marshall.
