One of the biggest regular season games of the 2024 college football season could wind up having a ton of players who are future stars on Sundays.
According to longtime NFL scout Jim Nagy, nearly half of the league has sent representatives out to Eugene, Oregon for tonight’s big game between the Oregon Ducks and the visiting Ohio State Buckeyes. The teams he listed were the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“Following #NFL teams in attendance at tonight’s Ohio State/Oregon game: Arizona, Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, Houston, Jacksonville, Minnesota, New England, New Orleans, NY Jets, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Seattle, & Tampa Bay. Also, @seniorbowl,” Nagy wrote.
The Buckeyes and Ducks both have a plethora of NFL-caliber talents on their teams, just about any of whom could fill a need for a team of any level. This past year alone the two schools combined for 12 total draft picks, with two going in the first round.
Ohio State enters the game as the No. 2 team in the nation. They are undefeated but have yet to face a ranked team amid their 5-0 start.
The same can be said of Oregon though. The Ducks have not even left the West Coast since debuting as member of the Big Ten and won’t even have to until next week’s game against Purdue. At No. 3 in the country though, they can prove that they’re a force to be reckoned with in their new conference.
The winner of this game will most likely take over as the No. 1 team in the nation next week.
The players that make the biggest impact on Saturday will probably be big-impact players on Sundays in the not-too-distant future to boot.
