In this episode, the guys talk about the latest NFL Draft big board, plus discuss the five Big Ten players with the most to gain from a great Combine performance.
Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Podcast Network’s I-80 Football Show. On this show, we travel down I-80 to talk all things Big Ten Football. After every week of action, we will catch you up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players you should be paying attention to for the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan.
The NFL Combine is this week, which means on top of hundreds of players chasing their dreams, the NFL is hosting meetings to discuss trades, free agency, and new rules.
In the traffic update this week, the guys discussed some of the proposed changes, including using a chip and cameras to spot the ball, expanding replay assist to review penalties such as roughing the passer and late hit out of bounds, as well as refusing the kickoff to ensure more returns.
In other news, Diana Taurasi retired from the WNBA, and Carmelo Anthony was announced as a member of the 2025 Naismath Basketball Hall of Fame.
In this week’s road trip segment, the guys discuss five Big Ten players with the most to gain from this year’s NFL Combine. From Abdul Carter’s chance to work himself into the first pick of the draft to Will Howard’s ability to raise his draft stock to an early day two pick, there is a lot to gain for these players.
Dante and Jordan also break down the newest consensus NFL Draft big board. There are some MAJOR changes we would make, including ranking JT Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer outside the top 40 picks. This year’s draft is setting up for the Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, and Baltimore Ravens to steal the best players because they were underrated — AGAIN!
In their weekly pitstop, Jordan discusses his first trip to Boston Massachusetts. Dante wonders if the Cleveland Cavaliers are the best team in the NBA. They’re on an incredible run including multiple winning streaks lasting at least eight games. Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley are playing out of their minds.
