ESPN’s “College GameDay” is in Ann Arbor this Saturday to preview what should be a thrilling nonconference matchup between No. 3 Texas and No. 10 Michigan.
During the opening hour of the show, Pat McAfee mentioned Ohio State freshman Jeremiah Smith. The talented wide receiver had six receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns in the season opener against Akron.
As soon as McAfee brought up Ohio State on the show, the fans in Michigan unleashed a “[Expletive] Ohio” chant that got picked up by ESPN’s microphones.
McAfee tried his best to have fun with this situation.
“I think they’re saying truck Ohio,” McAfee said jokingly. “Maybe it’s good luck Ohio. I think it’s good luck Ohio. Yeah, I think it’s that.”
This isn’t the first time that Michigan fans have unleashed this chant during a national broadcast. The school’s rivalry with Ohio State takes no days off.
Speaking of that rivalry, Michigan and Ohio State will battle on Nov. 30 in Columbus.
Michigan has won the last three meetings against Ohio State. Jim Harbaugh was the head coach of the Wolverines for two of those games, with Sherrone Moore filling in for the third game.
We can’t wait to see Michigan and Ohio State share the field. For now, we’ll have to settle for a hilarious chant on “College GameDay.”
