Another major basketball program has suffered a tough season-ending injury loss to its roster.
On Wednesday, the Ohio State Buckeyes announced that sophomore guard Taison Chatman will miss the entirety of the 2024-25 season after injuring his knee during the one of the team’s summer workouts.
Chatman was hampered by a meniscus injury going into his freshman campaign at OSU but bounced back well and was able to appear in 16 games for the Bucks.
The school says that the meniscus was fully-healed and did not factor into the injury that just happened.
Chatman has already undergone surgery and begun the rehab process, per the university’s statement.
“I’m incredibly sad for Taison that he’s going to miss the entire year,” head coach Jake Diebler said of Chatman’s injury. “After a tough start to his collegiate career, he worked his way back and played a role for us at the end of last season.”
“He continued that development this spring and was working out really well,” Diebler added. “I was looking forward to watching him take the next step this year. But I know he’ll work hard and get back to form as soon as he can.”
Let’s hope Chatman is able to make a complete recovery and get back on the court for the Buckeyes in 2025.
