College football fans are in for a treat this Saturday night, as No. 2 Ohio State will take on No. 3 Oregon in a potential playoff preview.
The Buckeyes haven’t really been tested this season, which makes sense considering they’ve won every game this year by at least 28 points. Last Saturday, Ohio State defeated Iowa by a final score of 35-7. Will Howard was outstanding for most of the game, completing 21-of-25 passes for 209 yards with four touchdowns and an interception.
As for the Ducks, they’ve been fairly dominant for the majority of September. The only real scare came against Boise State on September 7, but Oregon made enough winning plays in the fourth quarter to seal the deal.
Although we’re still more than 24 hours away from kickoff, Ohio State has already ended one of Oregon’s impressive streaks.
For the past 33 home games, Oregon has been favored by oddsmakers. That won’t be the case this Saturday against Ohio State.
The Buckeyes are currently a 3-point favorite over the Ducks.
Before Oregon fans get upset about this streak coming to an end, Brett McMurphy has some good news to share about Ohio State being favored on the road.
“This will be Ohio State’s 20th road game vs. Top 10 team since 2018. OSU 6-13-1 against spread in that span, including only 2-7 in last 9,” McMurphy said.
The winner of this weekend’s matchup will be the unquestioned favorite to win the Big Ten.
Kickoff for this Saturday’s game is at 7:30 p.m. ET. It’ll be televised on NBC and streamed on Peacock.
