Throughout the Ohio State football season, we will be asking and answering questions about the team, college football, and anything else on our collective minds of varying degrees of importance. We are now less than one week away from the start of a very unusual spring practice for the Ohio State football Buckeyes. Due to the extended season thanks to the national championship run, all of the turnover that the roster and coaching staff have undergone, and the continued changes to college football, Ryan Day’s squad is going to be switching things up this spring.
There will not be nearly as much hitting as there have been in years past, practices will be focused on schematic installation, and veterans won’t be asked to do too much. So, as we head into an unprecedented spring, last week we asked Buckeye fans a few questions about their hopes and expectations were for the spring.
So, check out our fan survey results below, and if you want to weigh in on anything, feel free to jump into the comments at the bottom of the article.
Question 1: Who do you think will make the biggest jump in football spring practice?

I think this is probably correct, mainly because he just hasn’t played as much as most of the other guys. James Peoples didn’t get much run as a true freshman either, but the rest of the names mentioned have played at least a decent amount.
To me, when we did see Julian Sayin in the game, he looked undersized and in a bit over his head. However, there have been nothing but glowing reviews of Sayin since he arrived in Columbus, and obviously his recruiting pedigree speaks for itself.
So, I expect the presumed QB1 to look markedly different the next time we see him on the field.
Question 2: What position group are you most focused on heading into the spring?

With all four starters now headed to the NFL, the defensive line is obviously the answer for me as well. There are so many exciting players who have sat behind Jack, J.T., Ty, and Tyleik who are now going to have the opportunity to show what they are made of. I’m really pumped to see what Caden, Kayden, Eddrick, Kenyatta, and company can do with increased playing time.
Then you throw in the possibility of C.J. Hicks officially making the move to edge rusher, along with Logan George transferring in and Zion Grady making it to campus, and I am really excited to see what Matt Patricia and Larry Johnson can come up with together.
