Ohio State’s football program dominated Iowa at home on Saturday, winning 35-7. Following the game, one of the Buckeyes’ top assistant coaches went viral on social media.
Buckeyes wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator Brian Hartline is trending on social media for what he posted following his team’s win over Iowa. Hartline, who starred at Ohio State before going on to play in the National Football League, posted a critical message of the Democratic Party in relation to the response to Hurricane Helene. Hartline, who has recruited and developed players like Jeremiah Smith, Marvin Harrison Jr., Jaxson Smith-Njigba and many others, claimed that the Democratic Party “hates” America on social media.
“Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline celebrated the big win over Iowa by claiming Democrats hate America on Instagram Stories,” political blog The Roster shared on social media.
Hartline shared a post highlighting the U.S. government’s response to Hurricane Helene, which caused more than 100 deaths and billions of dollars worth of damage to homes and properties across the country.
A story has gone viral, claiming that affected Americans are getting just $750 for the hurricane impact.

The $750 story isn’t completely accurate, though. Yes, impacted Americans are getting $750, but that’s for immediate relief for things like food, diapers, etc. It’s just a small part of a much larger recovery effort.
“And the federal relief and assistance that we have been providing has included FEMA providing $750 for folks who need immediate needs being met, such as food, baby formula, and the like. And you can apply now,” Kamala Harris said.
Should Americans get more when billions of dollars are going to Ukraine? Probably. But the folks spreading the $750 story aren’t being completely truthful, which comes as no surprise in the social media world of 2024.
