The Ohio State Buckeyes will be making an interesting pregame wardrobe change this season.
During his weekly radio show, Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day announced that players will no longer have to wear suits when they arrive at the games on GameDay. Instead, players will be wearing team-issued sweatsuits.
The idea behind the change is to create more uniformity among the players rather than a combination of potentially clashing suit colors. Day said that the leaders of the team liked the decision and everyone else agreed.
“The leaders felt like that was a good decision,” Day said, via Cleveland.com. “We all agreed on that. I kind of felt strong about that.”
Fans had mixed reactions to this news on social media.
Some who saw Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors share this news liked the suits more while others believe it’s good to see the team being less focused on its fashion:
“I actually like this less focus on fashion and more focus on the reason they’re there,” one user wrote.
“I actually liked the suits which show they had a business like approach. Tress and Urban both did that. I just wish the business like approach carried over to pre game,” wrote another.
“Hate the sweats. Suits make the team more business like. Sweats are lazy,” a third replied.
