The pursuit for a top national five-star offensive tackle continues for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State’s coaching staff rarely takes time away from the recruiting cycle, and though news is a bit slower with spring ball’s conclusion, we’re just a few short weeks away from visit season ramping right back up for the top prep talent the country has to offer.
That said, the Buckeyes have already seen a ton of talent flock to Columbus over the last several months, including a five-star offensive tackle who is now heavily considering the program.
It’s been impressive to see new offensive line coach Tyler Bowen get acclimated to his new role. From the jump, his recruiting abilities have really stuck out, and that’s been a key component the Buckeyes have lacked the last several years.
Never really hurting for talent, there was still more to be desired from this position group when it came to recruiting, and it really looks like Ryan Day went out of his way to ensure the next boss of the offensive line unit was not only a developer, but also a dynamic recruiter in his own right.
So far, so good, as three offensive linemen have since committed to the 2026 class, Bowen has done a great job in his short time, but more containing to add to that unit is certainly the goal for this cycle with the trenches a major priority.
Fitting that mold, the Buckeyes continue to chase Texas native Felix Ojo and remain heavily in the mix. The No. 7 player nationally and third best offensive tackle per the 247Sports Composite, Ojo will be a key target until his decision is final. Right now the staff is in pretty solid position for the five-star talent.
Fresh off an unofficial visit, Ojo has made it clear that the latest trip helped Ohio State’s chances, and that’s the momentum that needs to continue. More visits for Ojo are in the works as he plans to see Ole Miss this weekend, but the Buckeyes are looking to stay in the mix and do so with relentless effort.
Pulling a five-star is never easy, but the Buckeyes are doing so at every other position and it’s high time they have the same success on the offensive line. As they continue their pursuit, Ojo will of course be atop of the board to fill their needs.

“This visit did indeed help them and I would say my list not as far apart as people think it is.”

Quick Hits
- Keeping with an offensive line theme, the Buckeyes have recently been in touch with class of 2027 Kentucky native, Brady Hull. A 6-foot-3, 280 pound interior lineman, Hull is not yet ranked via his 247Sports profile, but a handful of early offers from the likes of Kentucky, Miami Ohio, Mississippi State, and Virginia Tech are sure to bring more attention as his recruitment continues.
Invited to camp with the Buckeyes this summer, Bowen has every intention of wanting to see Hull compete in Columbus. When invites turn into solid performances, the interest really increases. The easy assumption here is that Hull will visit this summer and camp with Ohio State’s staff.
