The Ohio State Buckeyes just landed a significant transfer portal acquisition.
On Wednesday, former Oklahoma State guard Isaac Likekele took to Twitter to announce his decision to transfer to Columbus for his final year of collegiate eligibility.
“My next chapter.. THE Ohio State University & Team 124,” he wrote.
Likekele is following an increasingly popular mold for college basketball players. With an extra year of eligibility due to the 2020 COVID-19 season, many players are finishing up their four years and taking their talent to a new program for Year 5.
Likekele was a staple of the Cowboys program for the past four years, averaging 31.3 minutes per game for head coach Mike Boynton. He averaged 8.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game in his Oklahoma State career.
Moving from one OSU to another, Likekele will look to continue this consistent contribution for the Buckeyes this coming season.
