Ohio State offers 2026 Georgia cornerback, adds more future visits

The Buckeyes dish out their latest offer to 2026 defensive target.

Churning out impressive numbers of power four athletes every recruiting cycle, the talent-rich state of Georgia is always an area Ohio State is keeping a close eye on. Offering several players each year, the Buckeyes know the caliber of players they’re getting when they recruit the Peach State, and the 2026 class will be no different.

Ohio State’s most recent efforts in Georgia include an offer to four-star cornerback and 6-foot-2, 175 pound athlete Jorden Edmonds, who took to his social media to share the latest news in his recruitment.

The No. 97 player nationally and the 10th-best cornerback in the 2026 class per the 247Sports Composite, Edmonds has been well-known for sometime now as he currently holds over 40 offers to his name. Ohio State now joins the likes of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Texas, USC, and several more as his top suitors.

Right now, Alabama holds the lone Crystal Ball prediction as the likely destination, but there’s plenty of time for the Buckeyes and other programs for that matter to make up ground. Surely Ohio State has enough clout at the position to at least gain some attention with Tim Walton’s recruiting chops.

Buckeyes still sitting in a solid place for the nation’s top player

Thanks in large part to the postseason run Ohio State was able to go on, the Buckeyes really started to impress the top offensive tackle in the country, Jackson Cantwell. A 6-foot-7, 300 pound Missouri native, Cantwell is the top player in the country regardless of position per the 247Sports Composite for the 2026 cycle, and will be the crown jewel of the class for whatever school is fortunate enough to land his commitment.

Having the change at position coach, Cantwell has kept the Buckeyes at the forefront of his mind the last few weeks. The good news for Ohio State continues, as Jackson has plans to get to Columbus in the coming weeks on yet another unofficial visit, further proving his interest in the program is genuine.

Set to take in spring ball on March 20, Cantwell will stay for multiple days on his own dime with the real potential that an official visit will also be given to the Buckeyes down the road. This being his second planned trip since December, clearly the staff is doing something right.

Ohio State has a real shot with the top lineman in the country, and now newly named position coach Tyler Bowen will have extensive opportunities to show Cantwell why Columbus is the best spot for him at the next level. Hired in large part because of his recruiting chops, it will be exciting to see the efforts put forth here.

• The Buckeyes are now locked in to host four star offensive line target Drew Evers later this summer. The No. 316 player nationally and 23rd best interior lineman per the 247Sports Composite in the 2026 class, Evers will be in Columbus for a multi-day stay June 6-8.

With offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas , and seemingly every other major program, Evers is a big time player and will be courted heavily even following his visit to see Ohio State.

• Ohio State has also been slotted to host the top safety in the country, Blaine Bradford during the summer months. The No. 16 player nationally and top safety per the 247Sports Composite, Bradford will be in town June 13-15 to see the Buckeyes and all they have to offer.

A position of great importance in the 2026 class, Ohio State sits in a pretty good spot right now for the second-ranked safety in Bralan Womack, but having the chance to also host Bradford is exactly what you’d want to be if you’re Ohio State and Matt Guerrierri. The Caleb Downs effect not hurting the Buckeyes by any means, Ohio State would love nothing more than to land one or both of these top two safety targets.
