The Buckeyes will soon host a 2026 five-star QB on an official visit. Ohio State also hosted a 2025 four-star OT committed to Georgia Tech.
Ohio State is now 6-1 following a narrow victory against Nebraska. Ohio State beat a better than usual Cornhuskers team Saturday 21-17. A victory in the Big Ten is a victory first and foremost, however the Buckeyes did not look impressive in the showing and the team will need to fix those issues before it takes on Penn State this weekend.
With such a marquee game this weekend, Ohio State’s coaching staff is going to be highly focused on the current roster of Buckeyes, and the headlines will do the same. However, Ryan Day and his staff are always recruiting, and the team will also continue to make recruiting headlines as a result.

Ohio State to host 2026 No. 1 QB
Ohio State and the college football recruiting landscape received big news just over two weeks ago when Jared Curtis (Nashville, TN / Nashville Christian School) announced his de-commitment from Georgia. The five star and No. 1 QB in the 2026 recruiting class also released a top schools list, which included the Buckeyes, Alabama, Clemson, Oregon, USC and South Carolina.
However, it was Oregon who seemingly took the early lead in his recruitment, which made it that much more important for Ohio State to get him on campus if it were to have a chance to separate itself from the group.
Ohio State received more good news regarding Curtis to start this week, as the talented quarterback announced he will visit Ohio State on Nov. 23 when the team plays host to Indiana.

Ohio State is not the only team that will host him on a visit though, as he also has trips scheduled to Auburn, Oregon, Georgia and Alabama. Auburn will get the first visit, followed by Oregon. He will then travel to Georgia before his Ohio State visit. Alabama will get a chance for the last-impression visit.
Curtis has racked up 2,116 yards with a 70 percent completion percentage so far in his junior season of play. He also has 26 touchdowns to just three interceptions and he has added 411 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.
Curtis is the No. 1 QB and the No. 4 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is also the No. 1 recruit out of Tennessee.
Quick Hits
- Ohio State’s 2025 recruiting class is almost full, but there are still a small handful of recruits the Buckeyes would love to add to its class as a finishing touch. One of those recruits is four-star offensive tackle Damola Ajidahun (Duluth, GA / Duluth), who is currently committed to Georgia Tech. Ajidahun visited with Ohio State for the Nebraska game and it appears to have gone as well as possible, saying, “All the boxes my family and I had were checked on the visit.”

- The Ohio State football team is not alone in hitting the recruiting trail head first this time of year, as Jake Diebler and the Ohio State men’s basketball team is also busy making recruiting headlines of its own. The men’s basketball Buckeyes recently played host to 2025 five-star power forward Caleb Wilson (Atlanta, GA / Holy Innocents Episcopal School) and the visit sounds like it was a success.
