Ohio State freshman wideout Jeremiah Smith is trending on social media this week, but it’s not because of an absurd catch he made at practice.
It was reported that Smith gave his tattoo artist a signed Ohio State jersey. However, the latest report suggests that it wasn’t a gift.
Apparently, Smith’s tattoo artist bought the jersey so he could get it signed by his client. Either way, the mission was accomplished.
A photo of Smith and his tattoo artist holding up the jersey surfaced on social media this week. It truly shows how much the times have changed in college sports.

Smith hasn’t played a game yet for the Buckeyes, but he has already received a ton of praise this year.
Ohio State associate athletic director Mark Pantoni apparently told Urban Meyer that Smith is as good as any freshman to ever suit up for the program.
“You hate to put this kind of pressure on a player this young, but as good a first-year player he’s ever seen. And I repeat ever,” Meyer said. “That’s a strong word.”
Buckeyes coach Ryan Day, on the other hand, has made it known that Smith could start as early as Week 1.
“If he continues on the path that he’s on, he’s going to play a lot of football and will certainly have a chance to start,” Day said, via Buckeyes Now. “I’m gonna be careful what I say, but he’s been certainly a pleasure to watch. And we are really excited about his future.”
Make no mistake about it, Smith has what it takes to become a household name this fall.
