Off the back of Sawyer’s career-defining play, Ohio State will meet Notre Dame in Atlanta for the National Championship.
Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Podcast Network’s Power Two Podcast. On this show, we talk about Big Ten and SEC football…and everyone else. This show is for the die-hard fans and the casual college football fans.
After every week of action, we will catch you up on all the major matchups of the previous weekend and look ahead at the games, storylines, and players you should be paying attention to for the next week.
My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host DaNaysia Jones. Lock in as we run a power sweep through the college football landscape.
In this week’s episode, Jordan and DJ discuss paying dues for their respective Greek organizations. The economy is insane, so surely there should be different options for those of us who are trying to make it. There was also a history lesson about Founder’s Day and its importance.
In the news, DJ and Jordan react to Nick Saban’s induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. This is a very well-deserved honor and it is always great to give folks their flowers while they are still here to receive them.
In the two-minute drill, Jordan shares a clip from another podcast about Ryan Day. For the first time in Power Two Podcast history, Jordan defended Day. The clip indicated that Ryan Day may have a particular bias, and Jordan pulled out the receipts to debunk that notion. DJ shared her frustration with baseless claims about people on the internet and how it can affect them.
This week DJ and Jordan give a comprehensive review of both the Orange Bowl and the Cotton Bowl. Texas has earned their respect with a hard-fought battle against Ohio State. DJ believes that Texas has a legitimate shot at returning to the Playoffs next year. Jordan took a moment to appreciate Jack Sawyer and his contribution to the Ohio State team especially now that he has completed a legacy play in the red zone. Jordan also praised both Ryan Day and Steve Sarkisian’s coaching and playcalling.
Penn State and Notre Dame were deemed an instant classic by Jordan. DJ was particularly impressed with the comeback Notre Dame put together but also concerned by the number of injuries. Jordan blamed the lack of wide receivers as Penn State’s downfall instead of James Franklin’s coaching for the loss.
In the pregame power sweep, Jordan and DJ share their in-depth analysis of the college football national title matchup between Notre Dame and Ohio State. Jordan discussed the defensive scheme of Notre Dame and how it may not be successful against Ohio State. DJ discusses what is at stake for each team. Both sides would be deserving of the title, but who will ultimately take it home?
In the two-minute warning, Jordan shares frustration with the Patriots blatantly disrespectful coach hiring process. DJ gives a quick rundown on the new Unrivaled Basketball League and why you all should tune in on Jan. 17.
