Ten people were reportedly shot in a neighborhood close to Ohio State’s campus this weekend.
ABC 6 in Columbus is reporting that 10 people were shot in the Short North, a neighborhood a stone’s throw away from Ohio State’s campus in Columbus.
The shootings reportedly occurred early on Sunday morning, leaving one person in critical condition. The victims are reportedly all males, ranging from 16 years old to 27 years old.
From the report:
Police said the shooter was wearing all black clothing, and did not rule out the possibility that more than one person fired a weapon.
It happened in the 1100 block of North High Street. It’s not clear what led to the gunfire, but dozens of shell casings were found at the scene, Columbus Police Sgt. Joe Albert said.
Police followed a white Honda Civic that left the scene with at least two people inside of it, but officers lost it while pursuing it on a nearby highway.
An investigation into the shooting is underway, though at this point, it’s not clear what led to the gunfire.
Police are hoping to find cameras that will help them lead to the suspects.
