Donald Trump has been making the rounds at football games this fall as he continues his presidential campaign.
On Sept. 28, Trump attended Alabama’s win over Georgia in Tuscaloosa. Last weekend, he was at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh to see the Steelers beat the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football. Trump’s trip to the Steel City came at the end of multiple days of campaigning in Pennsylvania.
According to reports, the Republican nominee is planning another football trip to the Keystone State. Trump is reportedly planning to attend the upcoming showdown between Penn State and Ohio State on Nov. 2.
“Donald Trump’s team is making plans for the former president to attend the Ohio State-Penn State game on Nov. 2 in State College,” tweeted Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger. “If the schedule is finalized, he’d be appearing in a swing state three days before Election Day. Trump attended the UGA-Bama game earlier this year.”
Pennsylvania is a swing state, which Trump won in 2016 but lost four years ago. Obviously, it can’t hurt to show up at a major event in the state just days before the election, which appears to be the strategy Trump is going for.
On the field that afternoon, we could get a matchup of top five teams, provided Penn State beats Wisconsin and Ohio State takes care of Nebraska this weekend. The Nittany Lions and Buckeyes are currently ranked third and fourth in the AP poll.
Penn State-Ohio State will kick off at noon ET on Nov. 2, with FOX broadcasting the action.
Meanwhile, the 2024 United States presidential election is set for Tuesday, Nov. 5.
