A former Ohio State wide receiver has been arrested in Columbus, Ohio.
According to Eleven Warriors, Corey Smith Jr. has been arrested for violating his parole. He failed to appear in court for an aggravated robbery charge in 2018.
He got arrested after officers knocked on the door at a house he was at. After realizing that it was the police, he ran to the attic before he was apprehended.
Smith Jr. was originally sentenced to over four years in prison (57 months) in March of 2021 because of a meth conspiracy case. He received credit for time served starting in August 2019.
Smith Jr. was with the Buckeyes from 2013-16 and helped them win a national title in 2014. He finished the 2014 season with 20 receptions for 255 yards and no touchdowns.
For his career, he appeared in 20 games, finishing with 31 receptions for 351 yards and no touchdowns.
