Shortly after Michigan State had capped off a 69-62 win over Ohio State Friday night, the 69-year-old head coach of the Spartans spoke to the media contingent about the game and how his team was able to neutralize Bruce Thornton. Izzo said he wanted “six eyes” on Ohio State’s leading scorer at all times, and also said that “some of it was Bruce, some it was us.”
Izzo also gave a quick “Go Bucks” at the end of the press conference, wishing good luck to the Ohio State football team in the College Football Playoff Semifinal next week.
Jake Diebler talked about how his team was not poised enough against a team that plays fantastic defense, but that he liked the three-point looks that his team got in the second half. Diebler said he felt that most nights, his team would hit more of them. But on Friday night, Ohio State was just 7-of-27 from three-point range.
Sean Stewart and Micah Parrish also briefly spoke to the media, in between the head coaches.
