An hour after Ohio State had won by 17 points over Iowa to improve to 4-5 in Big Ten play, head coach Jake Diebler, junior guard Bruce Thornton, and sophomore forward Sean Stewart spoke to the media about the game and the team’s progression throughout the season.
Thornton said that freshman guard John Mobley is playing “hot minutes” for the Buckeyes now, and that teams can’t discount his ability to create for others in addition to shooting. He also said that he was told by a student at the end of the game that one more assist would mean free chicken for everyone, and he was trying to make it happen.
Diebler spent time talking about Devin Royal, Evan Mahaffey, and Mobley specifically. He said that his team was “on high alert” for all of Iowa’s offensive weapons since the minute they began preparing for this game. He also said that the team is excited for the opportunity to play at a unique venue like Rec Hall when they travel to Pennsylvania on Thursday.
