Urban Meyer is in Ann Arbor today in a professional capacity as a member of FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff.”
While Meyer is technically supposed to be an impartial member of the media, it’s clear his loyalties remain intact.
Perhaps that’s why the former longtime Ohio State head coach couldn’t resist teasing Wolverine fans with his attire as he arrived for work.
The official “Big Noon Kickoff” X/Twitter account posted video of Meyer walking onto the set sporting a “Beat Michigan” t-shirt with an Ohio State logo underneath his unzipped jacket.
To be fair, Meyer has been complimentary of the Wolverines during his time as an analyst, including last season, when he said they had “something special” after beating Ohio State to close out an undefeated regular season.
Meyer later picked Michigan to beat Washington in the national championship game, which the Wolverines went on to do as they captured the program’s first title in 26 years.
Meyer has also made it clear the reverence he has for the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry, which he has said “occupies every second of your being” when you’re involved in it.
“When I tell people that, some people believe it, others are like, ‘c’mon.’ But it does, from the second you wake up to when you go to bed. That’s reality when you’re involved in that rivalry,” Meyer told the Toledo Blade’s Dave Briggs back in January.
Michigan and Ohio State won’t square off until the regular season finale in Columbus. On Saturday, the ninth-ranked Maize and Blue are hosting No. 4 Texas.
Kickoff is set for noon ET on FOX.
