Morning N&N for March 19
It was a rough first inning for the Guardians last night. Luis “LL” Ortiz started by walking two batters. Then he induced a ground ball to second base, and luckily the Guardians had Andres Gimen—oops, nope the Guardians did not have Andres Gimenez there to turn an inning-ending double play. Instead, Juan Brito booted it, loading the bases. Adolis Garcia then hit a grand sl—nope, the umpires ruled it a double, and there was no replay review. 3-0 Rangers, and Ortiz didn’t get out of the inning.
The 2nd inning went better, as Austin Hedges and Brito went long back-to-back, and a settled-down Ortiz re-entered the game. It was the 2nd game in a row that Hedges homered in.
But the Guardians eventually lost 7-3.
Prior to the game, The Guards made some obvious moves to trim the roster to 44.
Slade Cecconi is battling an injury.
