Its unsure if any more roster adjustments are looming, outside of moving players to the 60-day IL, prior to Spring Training kicking off. The Guardians released, through the Guardians Insider social media account, an update on key players who were injured last season.

Notably, both Shane Bieber and Trevor Stephan are now throwing five days a week to a distance of 120 feet and both are predicted to begin mound progression by the end of February.
Acting Guardians beat reporter, Anthony Castrovince, explored the thought process of bolstering the bullpen this off-season. Touching on filling the role left by Pedro Avila as well as metering the usage of the four horseman.
It certainly seems that the Cleveland Guardians front office made a concentrated effort to resolve the “pitching problem” that ultimately reared its ugly head in the playoffs last year. With the limited budget from the owners and having to fight the other 29 teams over the Dodger’s scraps, the Cleveland front office did a fair job. The team, provided that the Cleveland curse doesn’t strike too hard, are set to be formidable going into the trade deadline. At that point, players will be returning from the 60-day IL and the long coveted impact outfield bat may be available. Whether that is by trade or the Super-2 deadline being passed and a call up being made. The current roster construction leaves plenty of wiggle room to make mid-season adjustments without having to pick a key piece to lose. There are players that could be leveraged in a trade, players with options left, and players that plenty of fans would not be too upset if they were DFA’d altogether.
Perhaps its the promise of hot and humid days at the ballpark brought by Spring Training that has me feeling more hopeful in this roster. Soon these questions will have answers and the nebulous nature of professional baseball will finally take shape.
