Akron got a monster pitching performance from Austin Peterson on Tuesday. Peterson was dominant, tossing six scoreless innings of three-hit ball. He didn’t walk a batter while striking out six. He also outdueled Chase Dollander, one of the top pitching prospects from the 2023 MLB Draft.
Another strong start for Austin Peterson. Will likely end up staying with Akron through the playoffs, but has probably earned a bump to Triple-A with his strides this year.
Probably too many innings to send him to the AFL, but perhaps on the radar for 25pic.twitter.com/pvDJ5NvjDE— Justin L. (@JL_Baseball) September 12, 2024
Reliever Davis Sharpe almost crashed the party, allowing four runs on five hits in 2⁄3 of an inning, but Jack Leftwich and Zane Morehouse slammed the door with 2 1⁄3 scoreless innings of relief to earn a hold and a save, respectively.
Offensively, Cooper Ingle led the way, going 2-for-3 with a walk Milan Tolentino went 2-for-3 with a walk and Tyresse Turner went 1-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base.
